Notebook: Institutional Report

Notebook: Abbreviated Introduction

DeFi protocols are able to run in a trustless environment, granting the same level of access to malicious actors as to legitimate users. This can make it difficult to prevent fraud and other forms of abuse within the DeFi ecosystem. Moreover, this has limited the range of financial products made available on blockchain networks and hindered the growth of trust in these ecosystems.

Notebook is a project that aims to provide users with a decentralized notebook for tracking their activities on the blockchain. The project claims this will enable transparency and help users build proxy identities without exposing their personal information. With Notebook, each user is restricted to opening a single notebook and can grant permissioned access to protocols for interaction. The project states that this will enable interconnectivity and facilitate the development of new blockchain services while maintaining decentralization and anonymity.

Currently, in closed beta, the Notebook protocol is designed to be interoperable across blockchains, utilizing smart contracts on Layer-1 and Layer-2 solutions.

Notebook is based in California and is supported by several investors. The team behind Notebook is young and academically talented, with a strong technical background. The project has also partnered with NEAR Protocol.

The project is currently in closed beta stage, and details concerning the mainnet or testnet have yet to be provided.
