D-Core and UCL’s Scientific Methodology to Analyse Blockchain Projects

3 min readArticles

Approaching blockchain with a scientific mindset

In 2016, UCL announced its commitment to becoming the leading global research hub focussed on Blockchain technologies. The UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies was founded to research the effects of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) in socio-economic systems and to promote the safe and organic development and adoption of Blockchain-based platforms.

UCL’s CBT engages eight different departments from the university’s Research and Industry Associate network. This community consists of 180+ researchers and practitioners from UCL, other academic institutions and enterprises utilising and studying DLT.

According to educational and inclusivity ratings, UCL is:

  • 10th in the world (QS World University Rankings 2021), 5th in Europe, 4th in the UK.
  • 1st in the UK for research strength (REF 2014).
  • 1st in England to welcome students of any religion or social background.
  • 1st in England to include women in university education.
  • 1st in England to teach English, German, Chemistry, Engineering.
  • 1st in England to have a fully open access university press.

UCL has also been named the 7th best university for blockchain in the world by CoinDesk!

Search for truth

Disruptive thinking since 1826, University College London is a diverse community with the freedom and courage to challenge, to question and to think differently. Through a progressive approach to teaching and research, UCL’s world-leading academics, curious students, and outstanding staff continually pursue excellence, break boundaries and make an impact on real-world problems.

The crypto market is renowned for its constant innovation and disruption, making participation in early-stage projects an exciting vehicle to achieve significant returns. However, due to this continuous change and the uncertainties and obscurities of this ecosystem, it is difficult to conduct due diligence to identify trustworthy projects.

To address the absence of reliable information in the blockchain market, D-Core partnered with UCL and built its research methodology under the guidance of UCL’s Alumni, forging a successful composition of highly skilled human power, AI, and expert scientific approach which resulted in the creation of a Decentralised Comprehensive Objective Research Engine.

D-Core is the professional solution to answering the never-ending list of questions when analysing blockchain-related projects. It represents part collaborative academic effort and part quantitative research tool resulting in the most reliable and objective reports in the industry. D-Core methodology and research engine design ensures that we produce objective research. The end result is a product that identifies those companies that are worth following and have the highest probability of becoming disruptors.

D-Core is where the experts come to get reliable research information on who might be challenging the status quo and to uncover tomorrow’s disruptors.
